Series of works on canvas made with masking tape scraps from my container mural at Lightning in a Bottle Festival 2017. The pieces echo the same color palette and ridged striped structure of the shipping container mural. The black strokes on glowing yellow-green background are like a silhouette of the glowing festival landscape at dusk, and appear almost like photographic slides passing by on a film strip. I love the spirit of making art out of the trash produced in making a big detailed multi-layered piece. Art works that emanate from the waste material of a detailed work is almost more interesting than the original work. The very materials in the piece are like characters who have been through battle and lived to become their own work of art. Kind of like people.
